August 28 Carpooling – Poor People’s Meeting

Posted on Aug 15, 2017

We are looking forward to seeing you all at the mass meeting of the Poor People’s Campaign with Rev. William Barber on August 28, 7-9pm, at St. Gabriel’s Church of God, 5363 N 37th St, Milwaukee, WI 53209!

For those coming from Madison, we have a plan to help with car-pooling. If you are interested in car-pooling, please contact Tim Cordon at 608-630-3633. Tim is going to keep a list of people interested in giving a ride, and people who need a ride, and match you up.

If you can provide a ride, please let Tim know how many people you can accommodate, and if you are on the east side or the west side of Madison. If you need a ride, let Tim know that, and if you will be coming to the east or west side meeting point. Everyone, please give Tim your cell phone number, so he can text you the list of drivers and riders on the day of the event and let everyone know of any last-minute changes.

For west-siders – please meet up at the front door of the Hy-Vee on the corner of Whitney Way and Odana (the Westgate Mall) no later than 4:10. Use Tim’s list to find your ride/riders. Then, drive to the east side pick-up point to meet up with the east-siders and possibly pick up more riders. See below for information on the east-side pick-up plan.

For east-siders – please meet at the front door of the Walgreens at 2909 E Washington Ave, Madison, WI 53704 (across the road from Ella’s Deli) no later than 4:30. The west-siders should join you by then. Tim will be there to help make sure everyone meets up and finds their ride/riders. Please be on the road by 4:40 to make sure you get to the church in plenty of time to find parking and get a good seat.

One suggestion – bring a bag dinner to eat on the way.

See you there!
